The city Melitopol is in a southeast part of Ukraine in 120 kilometers to the south from city Zaporozhye on crossing of two large highways Odessa - Rostov - на-Дону and Simferopol - Moscow, and as in nearby two seaports Berdyansk and Mariupol. Thus, strategic positions of city creates equidistance from the European and Asian markets.
The geographical position of city in industrial region Ukraine favourably allocates the enterprise in the plan of maintenance of production with material resources.
In city except for "Melitopolprodmash" works eight more large machine-building enterprises in sphere tractor-building, motor industry, machine-tool construction, production of compressor and industrial refrigerating machineries.
